Between 8th and 10th September 2022, Totus undertook their most gruelling challenge yet, with a team of runners and a team of walkers covering 80 miles over 3 days from Lands End to Padstow, along some of the most brutal coast path that Cornwall has to offer.  

An excellent effort from everyone involved with nearly £3,000 raised for West Cornwall Search and Rescue.

Totus Engineering are excited to announce that we are now certified by LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) for the installation of fire resisting dampers.  This certification outlines our commitment to providing our clients with peace of mind when installing life saving equipment.

Today we have staff members attending the first of a course of Mental Health First Aid training sessions hosted by Be Mental Healthy

We are training our Mental Health Champions to support our colleagues and their own wellbeing, giving them tools to help gain an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing. Our staff will gain practical skills to identify someone struggling with mental health issues, confidence to step in; reassure and support a person in distress, enhanced interpersonal skills and the knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support.

Mental Health matters!

On the 11^th of September 2021, Totus will take to skies to raise funds for local charity, Devon in Sight.

10 of the Totus team will be jumping from a plane at 15,000ft (parachute included) to help support the important work Devon in Sight do.

The charity was formed almost 100 years ago to provide practical help to people who are blind or partially sighted to lead their lives as rich and fulfilling as possible. Devon in Sight provide ongoing advice and support and provide consultations for daily living equipment to the local community.

Staff within our Bodmin Office have recently done a collection and handed over 2 super hampers to St Petroc’s church in Bodmin.

Totus are currently assisting the church with their renewable heating objective as they look for a green solution to demonstrate their commitment to the environment and the future of all. Gavin Derbyshire, our in-house renewables expert, is working closely with the church to look at how they can move from an old oil burning boiler to using clean electric produced by solar photovoltaic panels on the roof of the church with a clean electric energy provider. 

Great to be featured in the July edition of the national Construction & Civil Engineering magazine as we approach our 10 year anniversary.

Huge kudos goes to our extraordinary team who have been amazing through what has been an eventful and exciting journey.

Following a terrific week of site training and support to the NHS, we finally have time to share great news!

A tremendous effort from our team of runners and walkers in our Cornwall office who recently completed the Saint’s Way Challenge raising a massive £2,550 in aid of CHICKS Country Holidays for Inner City Kids.

The Saint’s Way is the probable route of the ancient pilgrims coming across from Ireland and making their way to France and Spain.

 Totus staff collected gifts to donate to children in The Gambia.
